A Fischer Mendel controversy

Ronald A. Fisher, one of the most influential statisticians of the 20th century, is widely recognized for his contributions to the field of statistics and population genetics. Born in 1890, Fisher's work on statistical methods and evolutionary theory shaped the modern understanding of genetics. In the 1930s, he became known for critiquing Gregor Mendel's famous experiments on pea plants, suggesting that Mendel's results were “too perfect” to be entirely natural. Gregor Mendel, a 19th-century Augustinian monk, published his groundbreaking work on heredity in 1866. His experiments with pea plants laid the foundation for the laws of inheritance. An escape to reality

I am contemplating writing this blog as i do write it but after days and weeks of contemplation i think i have found purpose for this wee blog. I would be turning 25 this year and life seems to be at a standstill with work stagnating and my personal life and relations being strained to new extremes. Maybe in a strange way, i am hoping this article of my little escape to find closure and comfort with familiar faces in unfamiliar places would act as a guide or better yet reassure someone facing the same predicament. Investigating the effects of Mitochondrial DNA Copy Number deregulation in tumourigenic cells

Their variations are not aligned to a common increase or decrease across all tumours, instead they are found differing in different tumours. To further understand these variations, multiple strategies attempted have been discussed in this paper to provide insights into the commonalities in the interplay between mitochondrial genes and the associated nuclear genes in tumours observed with low mtDNA copy number and tumours observed with high mtDNA copy numbers. A literature review of existing data was conducted which forms the basis of the experiments executed and the results acquired. Procrastination: Deconstructed

Everyone at some stage or another faces procrastination. I for one have it creeping in on me every Tuesday. As ridiculous as that sounds, its common to find yourself procrastinating and putting off meetings, tasks and initiatives. One thing for certain is it can be induced by circumstances, emotional condition, environment or purely exhaustion. When one lives day in and day out, one may find themselves constructing a plan or thought that they feel they must commit to and accomplish however it is not those showers or 2am thoughts that accomplish them but the will you generate to make the first steps towards your tasks. Here I would like to provide my insights on how one could self-assess, acknowledge and move forward past the desire to not do as they wished for. The best way to define procrastination would be to term it as a phase of failure to self-regulate brought on by irrational delays despite the risks of potentially negative consequences.
